2. MAKE IT PERSONAL
The recipient should think that the box was created just for them. Personalize the presentation as much as possible; include a hand-written note, print their name on the box or you include a custom portrait of the recipient, as Olay did to promote their new face mask.
3. MAKE IT INTERACTIVE
Make the experience as interactive and engaging as possible.
And make sure to have a call to action. QR codes, videos, coupons etc.
Not all influencers are famous; for this marketing kit the target was grocery buyers.
The call-to-action centerpiece was the QR code on the box’s underlid and related messaging, which invited recipients to scan the code to be routed to a website where they could enter a contest for a chance to win $500. To be eligible, people had to provide contact details that would sign them up for the commission’s newsletter.
RESULTS 100%. That’s how many of the approximately 250 recipients scanned the QR code and entered the contest – and thus the commission’s e-newsletter list.
4. THE INSERTS
Carry over the theme of your story with a complementary selection of useful and trivial gifts, you can’t go wrong with food and fun!
5. SURPRISE!
It has been said that surprise is the best marketing tool. Add a little twist of surprise to your marketing kits, change the packaging from a box to… a crate, a bag, a paint tin!
